Ray Connor may be a fresh face in the world of wrestling, but he is well
known in boxing circles. The former Golden Gloves champion who, in late
2000, knocked out Mike Tyson in the first round of their match which was
supposed to just be Tyson's stepping stone to a World Title match. Connor's
boxing career was over then and there, thanks to Don King, but Dan Roberts
saw potential in him, and invited him to a GWF Tryout, where he impressed
Roberts enough to earn a contract. Now, can Connor build on his legacy or
will he just be another boxer-turned-wrestler flop? Only time will tell.
Connor's background shines through in his matches, with a flurry of punches,
jabs and uppercuts often found. He uses the aptly named T.K.O. as a finisher,
but has also learnt to use the Jackhammer, the falcon arrow and a spear to
end matches.
Connor has also become friendly with Troy Phillips, and the two team
occasionally. They have developed a devastating Super Spinebuster, where
Phillips will raise an opponent up and Connor will deliver a Spinebuster
from the top rope.
