Blake Ellis was in a difficult position. He had always wanted to be in the WWF,
but when he was there, the light-heavyweight division was non-existent. As a
result, he was sent to MCW to brush up. Whilst he wowed the Memphis crowds, the
WWF showed no signs of picking up the light-heavyweight division, and Ellis grew
more frustrated. Then, Ellis changed. When the Radicalz entered the fed and the
division kicked off again, Ellis was given the persona of a dark character who
could enter the mind of his opponents. Now, The Nightmare was all set to appear
at Backlash, when he hurt his knee. After 3 months out injured, his contract
expired and wasn't renewed. Ellis is looking to redeem himself and prove what
a stellar cruiserweight he is, and the GWF is the perfect platform for him.
Ellis has a varied style. He can throw suplex, use power moves or go up top. He
uses the Dream Release as a highly effective finisher, but can also win
matches with a cobra clutch, a flying elbowdrop, an inverted brainbuster or a
piledriver.
Ellis also teams with Mike Finn. The two form a cruiserweight team with a large
dark side. They also have an innovative finisher, where Ellis catches an
opponent in a side suplex, and Finn then spikes the move with an inverted DDT.
