Interview:
Dan Roberts made a huge announcement
JR: And now, we are going to go backstage to Scott Hudson, who is standing
by with GWF Owner Dan Roberts. Scott?
SH: Thanks JR. I'm here with Dan Roberts, GWF Owner and Chairman. Thank you
for your time Mr. Roberts. How do you feel the GWF is going at the
    moment?
DR: Well Scott, I am very pleased with the progress of the fed. When we
initially got the slot on the USA Network, we were worried that we might
get lost in the mix, with the Monday Night Competition from the WWF and
WCW, but our ratings haven't been too bad so far, and crowd attendances
have been excellent. And as for the in-ring action, well, what can I
say except Wow. The fed is only a few weeks old and we have already seen
some stellar matches. I can't wait for our first "5 Star" match, but I
get the feeling we'll see one soon.
SH: OK, Mr. Roberts, I understand you have some news regarding tonight's card
    and another card?
DR: Yes I do. As you all know, we are in the process of crowning the first
ever GWF World Champion, and we are in the Round Robin stages. Well, the
winners of the two round robins will meet for the GWF Title. And that
match will take place on March 18th, at the Florida Ice Palace, on the
GWF's first ever Pay Per View, Battleground Zero. And to make things a
little more interesting, they will fight in a 2 out of 3 falls match!
SH: Wow, thats huge news!!
DR: Thats not all. Also on the card, there will be a 30 Man Battleground
Zero Match to determine the number one contender to the GWF Title. The
rules are simple. Two men start, and a new participant enters every two
minutes, and to be eliminated you must be thrown over the top rope with
both feet hitting the floor. The winner will then face the GWF Champion
at the May PPV, Capital Carnage.
SH: Thanks for the news..
DR: I'm not done yet Scott. You see, tonight, we are going to determine the
first ever GWF Cruiserweight Champion. Now the GWF Cruiserweight Division
is open to all competitors at 220lbs or under, so looking at the roster
we have 16 eligible superstars. However, two of those wrestlers are Paul
Maloney and Simon Albarn, who are both otherwise occupied in the World
Title Tournament, so tonight we are going to have a 14 Man Battle Royal
for the Cruiserweight Title. May the best man win.
SH: Thank you Mr. Roberts. Huge news from the chairman! Now, back to you
    JR.

0:09:46.
Rating: ****
GWF World Title Tournament Group B:
Paul Maloney made Rob Yorke submit to the Crossface Submission in 0:06:17.
Rating: ****
As for Group B, with one round of matches left, the situation is that if Paul Maloney
beats Simon Mercury next week, he will go to the World Title Match. However, if he
loses, then the winner of the Shane Stevens-Rob Yorke match would be tied with him,
so a play-off would occur. Next weeks' edition of Monday Night Mayhem will sure prove
to be interesting.
