Reed and Hart met and became friends whilst training in Stu Hart's dungeon.
As they developed their skills and got to know each other, Bruce Hart saw
something in them and gave them a spot at Stampede Wrestling. Many called
them the second coming of the Hart Foundation, and many thought that Hart
was a relative of Stu, Bret, Owen, Bruce et al, but the name was just a
coincidence. Whilst in Stampede however, their mixture of power and speed,
brute force and techincal ability, caught the eye of a man in the audience.
That man just happened to be Dan Roberts. Within days, they had signed a
contract with the GWF, and Canadian Rage came south of the border to try
their luck in the big leagues
Jason Reed is to Canadian Rage what Bret Hart was to the Hart Foundation.
Quick, agile and technically sound, he utilised a tremendous scissor kick,
which he calls the Lightning Strike, to beat opponents in the main, but
has also been known to use a Rocker Dropper, a samoan bulldog, a sitdown
faceslam and a split-legged moonsault to win his matches.
Chris Hart is a rarity in wrestling. A big man who can put together a
highly entertaining technical match, or can partake in a wild, hardcore
brawl. He has adapted his style to combine Japan and America, and it shows.
His Thunderclap Suplex is almost as good as Jun Akiyama's Wrist Clutch
Exploder, and he also uses a cradle DDT or a T-Bone Suplex to beat people.
As a team, they utilise their contrasting styles excellently. They often
beat teams with the Sidewinder, where Hart catches a running opponent with
a backbreaker, but leaves him draped across his knee as Reed comes off the
top rope with a guillotine legdrop, almost decapitating the opponent.
At Battleground Zero 2001, Canadian Rage became the first ever GWF World Tag Team
Champions, defeating The Midnight Express in the final of a tournament in which
they also defeated The Fallen, The Alliance and Christian Roberts & Eddie Colt.
