GWF Monday Night Massacre
Broadcast on 19th March 2001
Interview:
Adam Collins challenged Paul Maloney to a rematch
[The opening credits end, and the cameras pan the arena, showing the wild
crowd]
JR: Welcome to GWF Monday Night Massacre, 24 hours removed from a historic
Pay Per View!! Last night at Battleground Zero, Matt Hawkes booked his
ticket to Capital Carnage by winning the Battleground Zero match, and
the GWF crowned it's first ever World Champion, "The Shooter" Paul
Maloney!!
[With that, "Shooter" hits the P.A. System, and Maloney makes his way out,
alongside Sarah Bearham, with the GWF World Title around his waist]
JR: And here comes the GWF Champion now! He's not scheduled for action
tonight!
JL: So what Ross! He's the champ, he can do what he wants! It's always good
to have The Shooter out here!
[Maloney steps in the ring and grabs a microphone]
PM: Last night at Battleground Zero, I did exactly what I said I was going
to do. I became the first ever GWF World Heavyweight Champion. When I
first got here, I said I would, and I was right. All due respect to my
opponent last night, but he wasn't even in my league. I am the best there
is, and I challenge anyone to prove otherwise
["Take It" hits the P.A. system, and Adam Collins comes out to the stage to a
great reception]
AC: Hold on a minute. Now, granted, last night you beat me. There is no doubt
that you are a highly talented wrestler Maloney, but you seem to be
forgetting that I pinned you last night. One, two, three.
PM: So, I let my guard down for a few seconds, don't be getting any delusions
of grandeur pal
AC: Maloney, you want someone to prove that you aren't the best? Well I am
challenging you to a rematch, for the GWF World Title, right here,
TONIGHT!!!
[Crowd erupts, as Sarah whispers something into Maloney's ear]
PM: Now, hold on just a minute Collins. Now, seeing as I beat you last night
in a 2 out of 3 falls match, I don't think you deserve a rematch, not
straight away anyhow. But, because I'm feeling generous, here's what
I'll do. Tonight, you face an opponent, of my choosing. If you win, I'll
give you your rematch, under any conditions you like, at Insurrextion.
If my representative wins, then you don't get your rematch. Sound fair?
AC: Hell, I don't care if it's fair or not. If it means I get my rematch,
I'll do whatever is necessary. I'll face anyone you can find, I'll kick
their ass, then I'll take your title at Insurrextion.
PM: I'm glad you are confidant. I'll see you later on. Oh, and by the way,
there is just the small matter of your opponent.....
AC: Oh yeah....?
PM: Yeah, tonight, you're going to be facing "THE MACHINE" ROB YORKE!!!
Enjoy yourself Collins. I know I will.
[Collins looks angry as he heads back to the locker room, and the show
cuts to commercial]
#1 Contenders Triple Threat Match:
El Maniaco Enmascardo defeated Damian and El Guerrero De La Luna when
Enmascardo pinned Guerrero with the ManiacoRana in 0:11:07.
Rating: **** 1/4
So, El Maniaco Enmascardo is going to face La Muerte Roja for the Cruiserweight
Title at Insurrextion after winning this Triple Threat Match. He pinned his
friend and tag team partner El Guerrero De La Luna with the ManiacoRana, after
they had taken Damian out of the picture with consecutive frog splashes.
Blake Ellis & Mike Finn defeated David Sabian & Mark Steele when Finn pinned
Sabian after the Head Trauma in 0:08:45.
Rating: *** 3/4
Interview:
Neil Johnson challenged Scott Sharpe
Neil Johnson makes his way to the ring with the North American Title on his
shoulder.
NJ: Last night at Battleground Zero, I retained my title as a result of a
disqualification victory over Maelstrom. However, I am not happy with
that. You see, Scott Sharpe, you may just have been getting even with
Maelstrom, but a tainted victory like that looks bad on me and the North
American Title. So, I want to put that right now. Officials have told
me that Maelstrom isn't here tonight, so I can't offer him a rematch,
but I can do the next best thing and challenge Scott Sharpe to a match
right now. I'll even put my belt up for grabs. So come on Sharpe, what
are you waiting for?
Johnson throws down the mic and his belt and waits for the arrival of Sharpe.
Neil Johnson pinned Scott Sharpe after outside interference in 0:11:39.
Rating: *** 3/4
(Neil Johnson retained the GWF North American Title.)
Sharpe has that Lead Pipe, and the referee is still down!!
Johnson is getting up, and Sharpe is measuring him....
Oh, Johnson ducked! And follows up with a huge DDT!!
Both men are slowly getting to their feet now.
Wait a second, someone's just jumped the security barrier. It's Maelstrom!!
He's in the ring, looking at Scott Sharpe.....
Harbinger! He just leveled Sharpe with the Harbinger!
Johnson is furious!! He's yelling at Maelstrom!
Maelstrom looks him in the eye, Harbinger!! He nailed Johnson as well!!
He just tossed Johnson on top of Scott Sharpe. What's going on?
Maelstrom is waking Pete Greenwood up now.
Greenwood sees the cover and slowly crawls over to the competitors.
Pete Greenwood counts: One, two, three.
Johnson has won this match, but doesn't know much about it!!
The winner is Neil Johnson. Time of match: 0:11:39
It seems that not one of Maelstrom, Scott Sharpe or Neil Johnson is happy at
the moment. Johnson is upset at having outside interference help him in his
first two title defences, whilst Sharpe and Maelstrom have cost each other the
title on different occasions. GWF officials have signed a match for next
Monday's Massacre, where Maelstrom will face Scott Sharpe, with the winner
going on to face Johnson for the North American Title at Insurrextion.
Steven Crowe pinned Jake Fox with the Half Nelson Suplex in 0:03:44.
Rating: *** 1/4
Canadian Rage defeated The Midnight Express when Hart pinned Masters with the
Thunderclap Suplex in 0:12:54.
Rating: ***
(Canadian Rage retained the GWF World Tag Team Titles.)
The Midnight Express quickly claimed a rematch after losing in the tag tournament
final, and once again it was close, but once again it was Canadian Rage who came
out on top, this time after Chris Hart destroyed Dan Masters with the Thunderclap
Suplex.
Interview:
Christian Roberts called out Simon Mercury
"No Chance In Hell" hits the P.A., and Christian Roberts arrogantly walks
out to the ring
CR: You know, I get the feeling that no-one in the GWF takes me seriously.
You all just see me as the owner's son. Well, I can beat anyone, and I'll
prove it. I can beat anyone back there. I mean, off the top of my head,
I could beat, say, Simon Mercury. In fact, that sounds like a good idea.
Mercury, get out here now.
"Breathe" plays, and Mercury comes storming out and climbs into the ring.
SM: Look, Christian, nothing personal, but if you don't shut your mouth, I
am going to be forced to kick your teeth down your throat, OK? If you
want a match with me, fine, let's go
Roberts looks very worried
CR: Actually Simon, you're not going to be facing me in person.......
With that, Eddie Colt runs out and attacks Mercury from behind, getting the
match underway.
Simon Mercury pinned Eddie Colt with the Quicksilver in 0:05:32.
Rating: *** 1/2
Christian Roberts shot his mouth off again, and annoyed Simon Mercury this time.
Mercury came out to fight Roberts, but instead was given Eddie Colt. Mercury took
out his grievances on Colt, and nailed him with the Quicksilver to get the win.
He tried to get to Roberts after the match, but he ran away sharpish.
Nikita Volkiev pinned Troy Phillips with the Russian Neck Drop in 0:05:49.
Rating: **** 1/4
Adam Collins pinned Rob Yorke with the Original Sin in 0:10:46.
Rating: ****
Rob Yorke goes for a lariat, but Collins ducks....DDT!!
Yorke is down and in trouble, and Collins is signaling for the Original Sin!!
Look! Paul Maloney is on his way to the ring!
Maloney is on the ring apron....but wait!!
It's Matt Hawkes!! "The Nightstalker" is running down the aisle!!!
He's grabbed Maloney's ankle! Maloney is trying to shake him off!!
And in the ring, Yorke with an irish whip....
No! Collins reverses it!!
Yorke runs into Maloney!! He sent Maloney crashing to the security barrier!
And a dazes Yorke stumbles backwards into Collins......
Original Sin! Original Sin! Collins just drilled Yorke with the Original Sin!
Maloney is still down outside!
Collins covers Yorke!
Tim Coxon counts: One, two, three.
The crowd erupts! Collins has his rematch!
The winner is Adam Collins. Time of match: 0:10:46
Adam Collins overcame the odds here, with a little help from Matt Hawkes, and
defeated Rob Yorke to get a World Title shot against Paul Maloney at Insurrextion.
As per the offer laid down by Maloney, Collins will get to choose the type of
match as well, which shows that Maloney really didn't expect Collins to beat Yorke.
As for Hawkes, he has gotten on the wrong side of both Maloney and Yorke with his
actions here. Is he prepared for the consequences?
GWF Insurrextion will be on April 15th, emanating from the Gund Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
